This is not a war on drugs. This is a series of extrajudicial killings, an outrageous violation of international law, and a dangerous assertion that the president can secretly wage war on his sole authority. It is time for the US to abandon this violent authoritarianism and re-engage with its neighbours with a little less duplicity, overweening arrogance and a lot more humanity.
